Truly private journaling

Local-first storage with end-to-end encrypted sync for everything you keep private, media files included. No ads, no telemetry, no data sales. Your entries are yours.

More than text

Photos, voice notes, links, and files belong in the same entry as your words. A private journal app should hold more of your life than sentences.

Reflection that compounds

Tags, full-text search, and a daily timeline mean the journal you keep this year still makes sense next year.

A clear answer

What is this for?

A private journal app should mean more than a password on the front door. Milogs writes your entries to your own device first, so the journal works with no account, no network, and no server in the loop. Signing in is a separate decision, made only if you want the same journal on more than one device, and when you do, entries and media are end-to-end encrypted. There are no ads, no telemetry, and no data sales, because there is no second business model running underneath what you wrote.

1. Write on your own device

Open Milogs and add to the day you are actually in. Text, photos, voice notes, links, and files all sit in the same entry, stored locally from the moment you save them.

2. Decide what leaves it

Keep the journal on one device indefinitely, or sign in to sync it across devices. Sync is optional, and when it is on, what you sync is end-to-end encrypted, media included.

3. Return without being watched

Move back through your timeline with tags, pinned entries, and full-text search. Nothing you search for feeds a profile, because there is no telemetry attached to reading your own words.

Frequently asked questions

Can anyone at Milogs read what I write?

No. Your entries are end-to-end encrypted when you enable sync, and media files are encrypted too, so only you can read them. Publicly shared content and blog post media are the only exceptions, which the security centre and privacy policy set out.

Where do my entries live if I never sign in?

On the device you wrote them on. Milogs is local-first, so the journal is complete and usable without an account. Signing in adds sync across your devices and cross-platform access; it is not a prerequisite for keeping a journal.

Are there ads, trackers, or analytics in the journal?

None. Milogs carries no ads, no telemetry, and no data sales. Your reflections are the product you are using, not the inventory being sold, and reading your own entries generates nothing for anyone else to collect.

Does enabling sync make my journal less private?

It changes where your data can be reached, not who can read it. Sync puts an end-to-end encrypted copy on the devices you sign in with, which means more devices can open the journal but Milogs still cannot. If you would rather keep it to one device, leave sync off.
