On-device AI

Milogs: Private On-Device AI Tools for Your Journal

Milogs uses AI in a deliberately narrow way: transcription and summarization, both running on your device. Speak a voice note and it becomes searchable text; condense a long entry into something you can scan. Your audio and your words stay where you wrote them.

Transcription without an upload

Record a voice note and Milogs turns it into text on the device itself. Your audio is not shipped to a server to be processed, because the processing happens where the recording was made.

Summaries that stay local

Long entries and voice notes can be condensed on-device, which means a three-minute ramble becomes a line you can scan. The full record stays; the summary is just a way back into it.

Credits you can see

AI Credits live in AMP, the Account Management Platform, alongside storage usage, devices, subscriptions, and sync settings. One place to check what you have used.

A clear answer

What is this for?

The AI in Milogs does exactly two jobs, and both of them run on your device: transcription and summarization. It turns spoken voice notes into text you can search, and it can condense a long entry into something shorter. That is the whole scope, on purpose. There is no chatbot reading your journal and no model being trained on what you wrote. Everything else about Milogs is the same local-first, end-to-end encrypted workspace it has always been.

1. Speak instead of typing

Record the entry when typing is impractical, mid-walk, mid-commute, or with your hands full. The voice note is stored with the day it belongs to.

2. Let the device transcribe

Transcription runs locally, so the words appear as text without your audio leaving the device. The transcript sits in the entry and becomes searchable like anything you typed.

3. Summarize and revisit

Ask for a summary of a long entry or a recorded note and read the short version first, then open the original when you want the detail. Both stay on your device.

Frequently asked questions

What can the AI in Milogs actually do?

Two things: transcription and summarization. It converts voice notes into text and can condense long entries or recordings into shorter summaries. Both run on your device. Milogs does not offer anything beyond these two capabilities.

Does my audio or journal text leave my device?

Not for AI processing. Transcription and summarization run locally and never leave your device. If you enable sync so your entries are available on other devices, that data is end-to-end encrypted, and publicly shared content is the only exception, as described in the security centre.

What are AI Credits and where do I manage them?

AI Credits are the allowance used by on-device AI features such as transcription and summarization. You manage them in AMP, the Account Management Platform, which also handles storage usage, devices, subscriptions, and sync settings.

Why does on-device matter compared with cloud AI?

Cloud AI needs your content somewhere else to work on it, which means a copy of your voice, your words, or both sits on someone else’s infrastructure. On-device processing avoids that trip entirely, and it also works when you have no connection and no signal.
